what everybody says is there is no significant downside to the 4 speed vs the 5 speed... possibly even more reliable? I don't think there are a lot of failures of any of the transmissions in the 9-5s... I'd personally be more concerned with the oil change history etc.
I was really tempted to upgrade our 04 Arc sedan to an 04 Aero wagon... there's a nice one locally and the price is good, but I think I will stick to the devil I know and avoid all the hassle of buying and selling never mind making another one right... I've got a few c900 projects to do! It is true that many 9-5's are now reaching an optimum point in the depreciation/useful life left curve!
