yeah, I think that is what my indy meant - they may wear, but the progression is fairly slow so one usually doesn't notice it too much. That said, I think they wear quicker on the 9-5, maybe underspec'ed for the trunk load? I do things like carry rocks in our car (just brought home the 4th huge load of home depot sheet goods on the roof of the c900 in 3 weeks - that thing has hauled more than most pickups)... when I replaced the sachs on our 9-5, the tires were cupping etc but the bounce test was perfect, but the handling especially over bumps was not as good as my parents identical 9-5. I had a rear shock go in a c900 (like the back end would go bouncy bouncy bouncy over every crack in the road and the bounce test failed miserably)... that was the same car that hauled a massive tile load (wheels rubbing fenders over every crack) for about 10 miles over our bad roads, so I can't really blame Sachs...
all in all, I think the Sachs are pretty good! (but I like the konis even better)...
