I was afraid of that. Mine doesn't throw any codes but the left rear is definitely wearing faster thatn the other tires. No cupping, not on the sides, mostly in the middle but the whole tire is wearing. I'm thinking either a sticking caliper of its the stability control (ESP). Fortunately there's a dash button to turn it off. Now I guess I just have to wait for a few months of driving to see if the rate of wear slows down. Can't be the TCS as that I think that only applies brake pressure to the driven (front) wheels to transfer traction to the drive wheel not slipping. Try turning off your ESP and see if it brakes normally?
Could be the ABS but I would think that malfunction would trigger the warning lights on the dash.
