Check the positive battery cable for corrosion, especially at the alternator end. If it hasn't been replaced on your car yet, it would be good to do pre-emptively, IMO.
My car went from what felt like interminable cranking (didn't matter if the engine was hot or cold) to starting almost immediately after the first couple of cranks after I replaced the cable.
In my case the cable was original (2003 9-5 Arc V6, 193K at the time). Others on the board have had similar experiences.
