I understand the usefulness of 3d printing as a prototyping tool, but wouldn't they more likely still be injection molded but be a knock off from China, with inferior specification including materials properties?
I would think it would make little business sense to 3d print cheap little plastic wheels that have to be produced in great volume. I can see some merit in 3d printing long obsoleted unique plastic parts where one might be able to charge a premium for it. Could be quite useful! Then again, I still worry about material properties...
