I rebuilt the turbo on my 2001 Aero.......25k miles on it since rebuild. I bought an OEM sourced kit on e*ay for about $80. There are some very good videos on youtube that give you step by step instructions. It was my first turbo rebuild and it was not bad at all.
I would just get a rebuild kit and do it yourself.
With the Aero turbo there is a very large snap ring to remove. I bought a long pair of needle nose pliers at Harbor Freight with a 90 degree bend and ground the points down a bit to fit and the snap ring came out easily. I tried all manner of snap ring pliers, but this was the best solution. Cheap and works like a dream.
