It's almost always the EVAP purge valve that goes bad with heat and stops working for awhile and then come back to life when cold.
Since an EVAP leak code problem needs to be present a few times before the C/E light comes on, you can sometimes drive the car for weeks and month before each occurrence all depending on how you drive the car. Or it could be just a couple of days of long haul driving to set off the code.
For me it can sometimes be dirt simple to check if the car comes in hot. I run a simulated EVAP test with the Tech 2 and if it s fails, I plug another valve in and if it pass, that's that problem.
But sometimes it could also be the more nefarious cracked gas tank and that could take a lot longer to pin point but also usually set off the code in a more regular fashion.
You can always try to clean and lube the valve but it is usually the electric magnetic coil that goes bad with heat and not able to pull the pintle open and closed.
