Ok here is the procedure. It is very very simple and can be done by almost anyone with any imagination at all.
1) Slit the card board and fit it under the shark fin. Be generous with the card board.
2) Take a hack saw blade out of the holder (blade only) and place it above the card board and under the fin
3) Back and for for a bit, about 5-10 mins and off the fin comes.
4) Clean up and and place the Pep Boys fake one one top. So far have stuck fine.
And just to make sure that this is clear to all posters, this is a destructive procedure. This was done on older analog systems after the on-star crap was removed.
Much Much easier than taking off the internal top. I have done this to replace the wagon shocks and it take much much longer and have to be careful with the top bending too much, etc.
Sometimes you just have to think out of the box a bit.
Or can take it to an indy if you want and pay them.
Any other questions or comments?
