Measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running. If it's less than 14 volts it is most likely your alternator (but could be the battery terminal wiring - check for corrosion). When the battery goes bad or loses charge due to alternator failure our 9-5s showed all kind of weird warnings on the dash like you are seeing. If you have the time and a little talent you can replace the alternator yourself and save the labor cost. I did it and I'm not a mechanic. In 2011, a rebuilt Bosch alternator from eeuroparts cost $296 with the return Fedex label and core charge of $85 that I got back when I shipped my old alternator back. While I was in there I changed out the pulleys and belt since it was near the 120K service.
