Sounds like a long shot, Tulsaab.
Crank Position Sensors dont operate on a fluctuating value range. They act as a pulse signal to indicate to the engine computer that the crank shaft is rotating in an on-off-on-off-on signalling. If there was an issue with the sensor of the wiring itself the engine fail to run at all.
I would be more inclined to think there is a discrepancy in the fuel-trim (fuel injection performance/efficiency). Likely due to an unmetered air leak (or multiple minor air leaks).
another possibility may be that the Fuel Pump is starting to degrade in performance. Another long shot, but possible (may also effect fuel trim values).
If your only complaint is that the fuel economy is low then perhaps you should start going back to the basics. IE; Tire pressure, rolling resistance, A/C-econ mode, Fuel quality, etc...
