and possibly causing the P1312 code?
Since the middle of June and 2000 vacation miles, my 07 9-5 has about 8-10 times triggered a CEL event caused by the P1312 code. I cleaned the plugs which didn't help. They didn't really need cleaning, and have served only 30k of their 40k replacement interval.
I then settled on the recommendation to get a good used IDM/DIC for testing and for a spare. I installed it yesterday. I'm not yet sure whether this solved the problem, because the interval I've experienced between P1312 events have been up to nearly 500 miles. It has mostly occurred right after an overnight startup, but twice it happened during a warm restart shortly after refueling. Also, one morning the P1334 code appeared along with the P1312 code.
Now, when I exchanged IDM/DICs yesterday, I noticed the upper end of the existing IDM/DIC case was covered with small water droplets essentially over where coils one and two are located. Water condensation also covered the top of the intake pipe, particularly near the throttle body. I noticed the water condensation yesterday and today after two rainy nights when the car was parked outside. However, this didn't generate a P1312 yesterday or today. In both cases, the car was not inspected or started until mid morning. It is suspected that heavier condensation might have existed, but had evaporated.
In both areas where water condenses, the underhood sound insulation blanket was sagging about an inch down from the underside of the hood, and is in contact with both the IDM/DIC cover and the intake pipe when the hood is closed. The blanket shows compressed indentations or wear markings from resting on these pieces. A few questions;
1. Does anyone else's underhood blanket normally rest on the IDM/DIC, intake pipe or other underhood pieces?
2. Has anyone else noticed water condensation on the IDM/DIC or the intake pipe, particularly following being parked outside during rainy hot humid nights?
3. Has anyone linked the P1312 code to mornings following rainy hot humid nights? or to a moisture coated IDM/DIC cover?
4. My underhood insulation blanket is attached using 14 fasteners along the perimeter, and only 5 auxiliary fasteners interior of the perimeter. It could use a few more of these. Does anyone's 9-5 have more than five auxiliary or interior fasteners for the underhood blanket?
It doesn't seem that the underhood sound insulation blanket is designed to rest on underhood components. In any case, I'd like to find a way to fix it up about an inch such that it doesn't touch anything. Any suggestions?
Responses will be greatly appreciated.
