Technically and sarcastically, no fluids needs to be changed. They are all "filled for life". When the engine or transmission croaks, that's the life span of that engine or transmission.
But jokes aside.
Nothing is filled for life, that's a myth and created by car companies that both needs to compete for customer base and pleasing emission controlling government agencies.
If you can promise EPA that this car will never have to have their transmission fluid or coolant changed they get the nod from the agency that the car is a good car and will not let out and harmful waste product.
If you can also convince the customers that they never will have to pay any money for transmission or coolant services, then they are seen as a good car company that looks after the customer.
5-10 years later when that transmission starts to fail one after the other like the old 900 stick shift and 03-04 Volvo XC90, those cars are so old that no one cares anyway except the poor customer.
It is never a bad idea to change transmission fluids and I like to do it every 30K miles for the people that wants to take care of their car.
