What I would do to not have to deal with rust!
When we bought our 2004 9-5, it clearly had brand new mid and rear mufflers from the previous owner... that was 2 years ago. The rear muffler is just starting to shed it's outer layer now... so it will last a few more years, but often it's the joints that go first anyway...
It is true that the 9-5 exhaust lasts much longer than the c900 exhausts... but OEM costs a whole heck of a lot for the 9-5. For the c900 I can get a complete cat-back from eeuro for <$150 shipped to my door. That's about the same as rpm2's used muffler for the 9-5! They last a couple years... I can't imagine buying a used exhaust up here in the salt belt, but maybe in the south that is ok!
When the 9-5 exhaust gets bad enough, I'm going to spring for a stainless. One of the systems was not too expensive cat back - maybe $600-700, and a little bit simpler also... every joint or extra part is a weak point for rust!
