Which engine are we talking? V6, light pressure turbo, or high output turbo?
When the car sits, oil will slowly leak from the turbo seals into the intake or exhaust side (or both) of the turbo. Longer it sits, the bigger the oil puddle, the more the smoke when you initially start it up. Mine progressed to the point of mosquito-fogger after hard acceleration. A turbo rebuild found that the seal had come loose in the exhaust side of my turbo housing and was actually rattling around in the housing, scoring the interior walls of it.
