That sound right. Resetting the sid is clearing everything it ever knew, so if you drive 5 miles thats all it see`s and in that 5 miles which took say 5 min you got 22mpg. but now if you stop and idle for 5 min. it now sees 50% of the time the cars moving and 50% of the time the cars idling which calculates the difference. If your intown driving the life of the car and rarely gets out on the hwy for a prolonged amount of time 16mpg would be normal for a v6. little on the down side replace your air filter see if it improves a little. 100% intown driving your not going to see to much gain in mpg. its all the idling at the stop lights that kill the sid mpg.
replace the plugs, air filter and fuel filter should improve a tad. The sid wont give you an accurate figure until a week or two after being reset. My 4 cylinder gets 30mpg running no a.c. with 75%hwy 25%intown with a.c. I`ll get 26mpg. I had reset the sid and ran 100% in town for about a month and the sid reflected 23mpg having a.c. on the duration. (with grampa style driving)
