Yoke was over an inch high at motor with new mount. I abandoned the jack stands and put it on ramps. I cut a wedge shaped 2x6 to increase contact area on the oil pan as car is on an angle relative to the hydraulic jack pad. This better distributes the load on the oil pan and makes it less likely to break it.
I then set the jack/ pad on the front half of the oil pan and was able to raise it straight up into position. If you try this on the back half you won't be able to position the motor correctly, the front won't be high enough and you may strip a bolt or cross thread in the soft aluminum bosses on the motor like a recent poster did here. Do not use the yoke mount bolts as a means to raise the engine. I used anti seize on all 4 bolts, just to make things a bit
smoother and avoid risk of stripping any threads.
