Headlight day, relay mod didn't work Posted by jgARC03SW [Email] (#1216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jgARC03SW) on Fri, 29 Nov 2013 09:06:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Spent all morning removing headlight lenses from car and cleaning them and polishing them.
Replaced my halogen and xenon bulbs. I wanted a bit more Halogen output so I got Philips "xenon lookalike" bulbs, but not sure if that's just hype or if the $40 was well spent there. I had xenon replacements in the glove box for a year and decided to finally replace them since they were flickering though not yet turning pink in hue like the ones on my first 9-5 did.
While everything was on the kitchen floor, I also got the burned out city lights out and put in fresh ones.
Only issue is that my relay 666 mod didn't work.
Last time, 5 years ago it worked fine the first try. Same setup as both were 2003. One white wire and two purple wires going to the other lead you need to jump.
I used an inline fuse connector and yes I did put a 15A fuse in, as the pictorial on another site did. Maybe my splices were no good? There isn't much slack in the wire to attempt many more tries. Should I skip the thick wired fuse connector and just jump the two wires with one of the clamping wire splices, instead of using 2 splices with the fuse holder?
I'm talking about the wires under the fuses.
