One word "high speeds" ok so that's 2 Posted by Vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Vvack0matic) on Sat, 14 Dec 2013 08:33:59 In Reply to: Spoilers - effective or cosmetic?, Jim in VA, Sat, 14 Dec 2013 07:47:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
At high speeds especially when cornering the excess wind hitting the wing adds more down force to the rear of the car enabling the car to take a quicker corner and also adding more stable control on the straights. Lets not forget these are a front wheel drive car there's literally nothing weighing the rear end down and its prone to spin out, fish tailing, you name it. The excess down force it creates in the straights cures the bobble effect where the car feels like its a bobber, it will force the rear end close to the ground adding more overall control at speeds 70mph + The bobber effect the car will do with out a wing can be felt clearly at 110mph where the rear end sorta floats. None of my Saabs have the wing and I wish they did becouse I tend to take excessive fast cornering and visit speeds of 90+ quite often
