Is there someone out there who wants to do a dirty to you? If so, and you're going to think I'm a paranoid about this kind of thing, check to make sure that fuel is actually getting picked up and transferred by the pump. One of the really rotten things to do to someone's vehicle is to put an unrolled condom in the gas tank. As the fuel is sucked towards the pickup, the condom eventually covers it and no fuel flows and the engine just stops. Wait a while, the condom floats away from the pickup and the engine will run again . . . . . until the whole process is repeated. Nasty stuff and it drives troubleshooters crazy. Just trying to think outside the box here (no pun intended).
