Koni FSD more compliant? I would have thought less compliant... I have koni sports (yellows) on our 2004 9-5 arc, and it vastly improved the precision of the car (partly because the oems were getting worn out by that point)... used to wallow... now much more tight, but not harsh.
I would say that a shock change is a pretty expensive and invasive thing to do just to get a softer drive. But changing wheels is not cheap either, unless you find a set used and sell your old ones. 16" is as small as you can go but it will make a difference with the right tires. Nice compliant touring tires on 16" should help a lot. I would do that first, see if that works, before playing with the suspension!
Or just get her to drive a c900 for a month and then give her back the 9-5... even with 15" tires and oem shocks on those cars, you feel everything!
