Well, your conditions, cold and maybe stuck, don't help my hypothesis. I'm thinking that slamming the door shut with the window half open risks breaking those green rollers more so than having the window all the way up and held a bit more securely. But I'll see how the rollers on our three wagons fare over time using the shut window technique.
I have green rollers of both flavors. I was considering how to test them on the workbench and see if one version was obviously tougher that the other. I don't know how to do that.
Just some ideas, cheers,
