I bought the car with 60,000 miles and it let loose at about 75,000 worst part is it was 2am when it happened couldn't be more of an inconvenient time. Never do I want to go through that again. When it broke the upper portion where the belt is in contact with the wheel sheared off from the lower part (the part that houses the bearing)
I hear its the bearing that goes on them and the plastic wheel doesn't break. My wheel broke and the bearing was fine.
I highly suggest getting the short belt installed and just voiding out the center pulley. I ordered the belt from Eeuro and had it installed in matter of minutes its super easy. I left my old idler pulley still attached to the motor (to lazy to remove it) Eeuro has a short write up on how the short belt is to be installed to replace the longer one and doesn't come near the center pulley so mine is jus sitting there doing nothing.
