I normally leave mine on through at least half of April and I'm only about 4 hours north east of you. March is still winter and there can definitely be snowstorms in April. I remember taking the snows off prior and then driving back on the 401 from Toronto with all seasons. Had to take it much slower, and there were numerous SUV's in the ditch. Would have rather had the hakkas!
This winter has felt pretty long - consistently fairly cold, but otherwise it seems pretty normal to me. I think we've only had 1 record low the whole winter, and that was just a couple mornings ago. Just an average amount of snow also. For those a bit more south with normally more mild winters, there might be more record lows and it might be more of a shock with more snow and less rain. I think we have all just gotten used to the past few excessively mild winters... A year or 2 ago I was in Toronto in February iirc, and there had not been any snow accumulation yet and folks were biking around without jackets. That is just wrong.
