While replacing the battery cables don't forget to replace the positive 16 gauge wire running to the alternator.
I had the entire red alternator wire turn to a burnt brown wire under its nice clean red sheath making the wire a little better than a 24 gauge wire to charge the battery on a c900 that had the same amount of miles as yours. Was luck that it was discovered, had all sorts of charging issues but after replacement everything was fine.
