Since you're posting from Australia, am I correct in assuming that your Saab is a RHD model? If this is the case, then you are reporting that your front left hand (AUS passenger = USA driver) side is not blowing cold as it should. I had this same problem, after first verifying that the blend, recirc and distribution mechanicals were working properly and not throwing any ACC error codes. My Saab mechanic performed the following tasks:
1) The evaporator core was replaced.
2) The A/C was evacuated and fully recharged using a smart cart.
(The latter task had to be repeated; it wasn't done right the first time.)
Since then, it's blowing equally cold on both sides! It was explained to me by John Schreiber (Saab Services, Florida) that the evaporator coil is arrayed vertically with flow from right to left; with an insufficient refrigerant charge, it effectively absorbs heat only for the right hand side of the cabin.
