I love the short belt just because it voids out the center pulley. I had first hand experience of the center pulley blowing apart while cruising down the turn pike at 2am. I was 50 miles from the nearest.. Anything, long story short 350$ later back on the road.
The short belt is reported to have excessive vibration so much so it can vibrate itself right off the wheels and if this happens the motor will chew it up. So if your going to go short belt carry a spare in the trunk and a bar strong enough to pull the top pulley forward.
What year 9-5 did Saab do away with the center pulley.. Wasn't that 04+ cars
