Will not start or will not crank? Battery good? Try jumper cables. Some batteries fail suddenly with a cracked connector that will allow some voltage but not significant current. How old is battery.
When cranking, watch the tach. If not registering, the CPS has failed. You can trace wire to connector near the thermostat and check ohms, should be in 800 range. If open circuit, you found the problem.
When you turn on the ignition [do not crank], the fuel pump will run for a second or two. If not, the fuel pump has failed or not getting power. You can check continuity through the fuel pump motor to ground via the fuel pump fuse.
When cranking/running the ECU energizes that fuse if the CPS indicates cranking. If the CPS is not working, the ECU is unaware that your are attempting to start the engine. When cranking with a good CPS, if the engine will not start, or stalls, the fuel pump will run for a few seconds and you can hear that. If you lift the rear seat cushions, you can hear the pump better.
