Thanks for your help. Yes, my 2000 is an early one and I am "rubber necked" to think that my lack of coolant changes may have contributed to the problem...(:
So far the leak is a fairly slow one and living with it until the next timing belt change would be nice. I'm at 130K now and I've done the timing belt job at 60K and 120K. How do I detect if any coolant is entering the combustion chambers? That would make matters more urgent!
Having just replaced my oil cooler, cleaning up everything I could under the hood and flushing
the cooling system, I'm starting to think that all my spare time this summer is going to be spent on my beloved Saab....
