I just replaced the window "rollers" in the passenger door on our 2004 Aero Wagon. I bought the UROparts cheap versions but they're all similar. Here are a few tips.
1. Re-use the wire bale from the original slider (they're not really rollers as they slide and only roll a little bit. The shape of old bale is different than the Asian knock-off. The sides of the bale are NOT parallel on the original and they'll impart less stress on the plastic part of the slider (roller) that fails. Also lubricate the ball on the scissors mechanism before reinstalling the "roller". I use the grease noted below.
2. Lubricate the slides that the "rollers" ride in. I use a sun-roof lube called TrueGlide from Wurth. It's a grease that comes in a tube. It's not cheap but it does a great job. Use it on your sunroof tracks too.
3. A tip from the BMW forums. Lubricate the window tracks with a THIN coat of multi-purpose grease. This reduces the force required to raise the window. If you're a maintenance nut like me you'll do it every time you rotate the tires, which is every time I change the oil. Use a cotton swab to get the grease in the vertical portions of the channels and take off any excess when done.
