Trunk lid bounces around when opened

When I open the trunk on my 9-5, if I let the lid open completely, it will bounce around at the end of its opening range. I originally thought this was just because the trunk strut connections were both broken at their bases, but after replacing them, the trunk lid will still bounce if I do not hold on to it until it is fully opened.
My 9-3 convertible has a similar opening mechanism but it does not bounce around once it's completely open. Is there some kind of adjustment to the hinges that would fix this?
Thanks,
Nick
