Multi-step removal process, not sure how you tried it Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 4 Nov 2014 12:56:57 In Reply to: cabin air filter access, Bruce A, Mon, 3 Nov 2014 14:02:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1) Run passenger seat all the way to the rear
2) Remove panel beneath glove box. There are 2 - 4 screws visible beneath the glove box hinge line. Remove them first. Then reach all the way to the firewall and feel for a nylon gripper that slides over a plastic tab. Expand the two jaws on the gripper, then pull the entire panel rearwards toward the passenger seat. Tougher than it sounds.
3) Remove the glove box. With the panel removed you will see two screws holding the lower edge of the glove box, remove them. Open the glove box and remove the two scrrews in the upper corners. Slide the glove box halfway out, disconnect the rubber ventilation hose and wires to glove box light. Remove glove box entierely.
4) Remove the carpeted cover over the heater box. The three rivets can be removed by depressing their cinter pin by the tip of a phillips screwdriver, then grab the rivet heads with your fingers and pull them out.
5) Remove cover on heater box. 6 - 8 small screws now visible. Remove screws and cover comes off.
6) Now you can see the filter. Remove and replace.
7) Reverse above steps to reassemble passenger footwell trim.
