Take Doug's advice. Probably won't hurt a thing, and you might not ever need to take it off again.

For what it's worth there are cars that have spec torques in the 180 ft/lb ad up range and - I once owned one, and it needed a timing belt and pulley change out every 100K miles . . . I did that job twice =)
