I did the same thing a year ago, going from my '00 9-5, which I loved, to a '09 Aero. I wanted a newer one, pretty much the last "new" Saab I'll buy. I love the new car, and I did what I have done with every Saab I've bought new since a '78 99 - when it was time to change up, after 200-300k miles, I gave the old car to a needy student.

I think it was the right move. As for value, I paid $9,000 for the '09 9-5 to an Ohio Lincoln dealer last November. It makes a nice contrast sitting next to my '71 96. One's real fast, and the other one isn't...
