2004, turns over no start, or if start runs very poorly, throws a CEL...in order of ease, you may want to point this out to your "may not be familiar with Saabs mechanic".
1. Sounds silly, but out of gas. Gas gauges and DTE on computer not always accurate. My car is out of fuel when SID shows 50 miles or less on DTE.
2. Plastic inlet pipe at top of throttle body popped loose, grab it and see if it moves, there is an o ring inside and hose clamp outside. If loose car will either not run or run poorly. This has happened to a number of us. My o ring had crumbled after 10 years of service.
3. Bad DIC. Mine usually last 40k or so, on the 9-5, you will typically get a CEL a few days before failure. Burnt epoxy smell under hood.
4. Bad CPS, usually last 100k or so. Cheap enough to replace preemptively
5. Bad fuel pump, lift up back seat and listen, you should be able to hear it if functional. Seem to last 100-120k or so.
6. Bad connection in wiring harnesses, I have had this under the hood at center of firewall and also under the dashboard. They used ribbon strips that dont always make good electrical contact. A real headache, best left to experts. Probably rare but this happened to me twice, towed both times. SWEDECAR has seen this on some.
