Subframe Bushing - Very Happy Posted by Doug W [Email] (#2371) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Doug W) on Tue, 9 Dec 2014 18:29:15 In Reply to: Re: Subframe Bushing Orientation, AdamSAAB2kAero [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 9 Dec 2014 14:52:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had my indie do the rear subframe bushings today with the OEM versions - not poly. I bought the Sealy VS721 (RoseBush) tool for him to use. My total cost was under $300 complete and I got the tool back to use on the rear stay bushings. Harshness, rattling, groaning, creaking, are all gone. What I notice most is the improvement in steering response. I'm amazed. It's as good as my e46 BMW sport. I can imagine in the spring when a set of Michelin Pilot SuperSports goes on they'll be another order of magnitude handling improvement.
I noticed my tech used an air chisel to help in removing the old bushings. Others have posted that as a proven method.
Without this board I'd never know all these details. What a resource! Thanks!
