I would keep them separate. If you're in a pinch use distilled water to fill some empty space in the overflow tank. It's available at your local supermarket. When you're there look for some coolant that has the same color as yours. If you find it premixed then add that.
Order some Zerex through the web or telephone too for later on.
Last resort is some tap water. Maybe run it through a water filter first before putting it in the car. Small amounts is fine instead of flush and fill with that kind of water.
