My car does the same thing , no ACC codes . No heat . I check the blend doors and motors and everything seems fine . The recirculator works as well . The only thing that I am certain of: my heat loss never happens @ night , it only happens in sunlight . Usually @ mid - highway speed .
I have thoughts of hearing something about a "sunlight" sensor on the dashboard , but nobody else can confirm my ignorance {easy does it ..} Maybe this is a Coolant Bypass Valve phenomenon unique to the 3.0 v6 . The v6 does have a very different hose setup @ the firewall than the 2.3 .
Then , after hitting a few dozen buttons , the heat will come back on , just fine . I keep a meat thermometer in the dashboard vent , an old truckdriver habit . When the heat cranks , there is 135 degrees F down in that heater when it's blowin' Hot . Sometimes ...nuthin !
I wear insulated boots and wool socks , coveralls and doufold underlayers . Instant "heat packets" and hat , Keeps me warm ...don't need gloves until it gets around 20 degrees F .
Maybe my freon is getting low ....mmmmm.....bbbrrrrr!
