Serious overfilling will cause air suspension in the oil from the crankshaft, but you'll also get an oil pressure CEL.
The 1999 I bought for my daughter was like this when I started driving from out of state back home. Oil pressure light came on after I had driven about an hour. Pulled over, checked dipstick, and although I don't remember (this was almost 9 years ago) if the appearance of the oil was "bubbly", I saw that it was seriously overfilled.
I pulled in at the first service shop (thankfully less than mile down road), asked them to drain some oil. They didn't think that was the reason for the CEL, but they "humored" me. They lifted car, drained some, lowered, checked, raised, drained, lowered, checked. They didn't know exactly how much they drained, but it was several quarts.
I paid them, headed down the road, never saw the CEL again.
Daughter drove that car for 3-4 years before totaling on an icy overpass.
Thankfully SAAB changed from the black plastic dipstick to the tan, to help "technicians" fill to the proper level.
