Need to take it to a SAAB specialist with TECH2 scan tool and SAAB TIS (Technical information system) online account.

The Current software program will be verified or will be updated at that time.
Could take {up to} a few hours to complete.

Last time I updated a 9-5 TCM (transmission control module) it was showing the time remaining (and file transfer size) of the software update as ~45 minutes til complete ...then after that 45 minutes it kept going....and going..and going..ended up counting down in reverse (counting up?!) for about another 45 minutes.

And you dont want to interrupt the programming session. Cause it could ruin (AKA "Brick") the TCM unit.
So of coarse a battery/voltage maintainer it hooked up during the whole process.

ALSO; Preferably the TIS software programming is done via Tech2-pass-thru programming from a dedicate work-station PC. This helps avoid programming errors (learned the hard way). ;)
