What was the cause of the engine rebuild? ..or just...just for fun?
some random tips &
"Re-engineering" advice:
Remove the balancer chain.
Remove the balancer chain-tensioner and have the hole galley hole welded shut.
You will never really notice it's gone. And you have effectively removed the hand-grenade (with primed pin) from the inside of your SAAB 9-5 engine.
While the sub-frame is removed: install all six polyurethane sub-frame bushings.
Engine is out; great time to do the PCV system updates and re-new/replace the oil-pressure switch.
Flush the oil cooler and cooler-hoses
RE-sealing the cylinder head gasket; apply {non-hardening} gasket maker at the upper and lower portions of the head gasket where it seals-around the oil-return passage of the rear (opposite the timing chain side. below the cam-plug end)
This area is notorious for seeping oil after the break-in period. ...and it never stops. You'll have to live the rest of your life cleaning it off again and again OR watch as it slow makes a message out of your nice {newly} cleaned engine compartment. !!!!
