Yes, your engine will rack up misfire codes all the time and it will be reset when you run the fault code reset command.
Saab even mention that in WIS that to fault trace a misfire problem, you have to reset first and then see which cylinder start to rack up numbers first and how many and how fast.
If a car has not been cleaned out in a long time, you can have up in the thousands of misfire counts over all cylinders which is of no use when you start to look for a problem.
