Rare, yes. Desirable is in the eye of the beholder. We have an '04 Aero Sport Kombi in Merlot and Sport Tech but with 5 speed Auto. We got it almost four years ago and paid $400 more than the price on this car. We've driven it 50,000 miles and it's been great - no regrets.
The sticker price when new on these high zoot Saabs was over $40k. The price on this one is high due to rarity I'm sure.
I'd be leery of this car due to the rear badge placement and body panel misalignment. It's been at least partially repainted, but the real question: Is there was any underlying serious body work? The car has a corroded valve cover, although a minor nit. To me that's another sign of not being enthusiast owned. If you're serious about it then a PPI (preferably by a good body man) is a must as are at least some records.
