If you're after really clean oil, you're only going to get a minific benefit by addressing residual oil left in the cooler. To get really clean oil you need to use a bypass filtration system. Check out AmsOil and Canton. They both make them. AmsOil sells complete kits.
Bypass systems can be more than 96% efficient at two microns. I know someone who ran the same oil with regular analysis intervals in a Mazda with a bypass system for seven (7) years and 50,000+ miles!
You could look into plumbing a bypass filter into your cooler lines.
