Oil Leak Posted by Twells [Email] (#1632) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Twells) on Sun, 3 May 2015 05:15:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 2004 9-5 Aero Wagon with 137,000 miles. Just developed a minor oil leak on the passenger side of the block. After removing the motor mount, there is a little stream of oil coming off between the block and head on the backside. If I correctly understand, being a 2004, the PCV #6 fix really doesn't apply, and there shouldn't be a problem with the torque of the head bolts. I used my brake bleeder to apply 5lbs of pressure to the pcv valve on the back of the engine and it bled down to 0lbs within about 15 seconds. All the other pcv hoses connected to the oil collector seem fine. My plan is to replace this hose/valve and see if that stops the leak. If not, then re-torque head and then if that doesn't work, do the head gasket. Any other thoughts. Thanks, Tim
