Taking car of a new black 9-5 ? - clearcoating ?

Any suggestions on taking car of a new black 9-5 ?
Should I get it clear coated ? How much should this cost ? What’s the difference between the Ziebart kind ( $200 ) and taking it to a carwash and having them apply it ( $30 ) ? ... does it help ? I’m afraid to even put a cloth on it until I get it protected. I saw a 99 black 9-5 at a dealer and the scratches on it looked terrible.....
This would be easy in other parts of the US - however as I live in a poorer part of Connecticut ( New Haven,CT ) some of the car washing and detailing places look extremely dubious. I really need to do my homework on this topic as businesses owners in this area enjoy and profit from a “mark “ : )
thanks.
