Was going to give of my ride that I have had forever. See link at the end of post. I was looking at Porsche 996 turbo 2000 - 2004, BMW 1351, Bmw 335i. I was going to dump between 25 - 40 K depending on the car. Then, ..I thought long and hard... I have 250 k miles on my aero. I have done alot of work and pampered it. I wanted to get rid of it because I have been chasing an issue for 6 years. INTERMITTENT PERFORMANCE ISSUES. Its an automatic. Issue: Sometimes when pressing down on the gas pedal, it feels like the car isnt kicking down in the tranny. Its equivalent to trying to launch a 6 speed motorcycle in 4th gear. This problem is VERY apparent when climbing high slopes up a canyon for example. It doesnt ping, its like taking sticks and pounding them on coffee cans !!!! I have replaced 4 pistons years ago due to a cracked one from bad AMM. Most of the obvious things are correct. No pressure leaks , no vac leaks, AMM good, DIC good, No codes thrown . I also just developed a slow oil leak . Heres my plan. I am going to pay aprox 800$ ROUND TRIP to have my car transported to JZW. He is going to find out what the FCUCk is wrong with the car. Fix the oil leak( I suspect main seal area ) And do a stage 2 tune. The interior/exterior of my car is 9 of 10. I love my baby. Front and rear adjustable suspension, etc. So, am I nuts to keep it and go to this length to get it 100% ? I figure if I spend a total of lets say 2,500 max, I am still ahead 37.5 K. Just for kicks , heres the video link... If it was a badly aged car, I wouldnt go this route.
