Sounds like he did not cure the cause of the problem. Could be a lean running #4 cylinder. Check the AMM or air mas meter. Clean it or replace it
GM low friction cast pistons are not very stout and don't like running lean. That is what cracks the piston.
If it were my car I would pull the engine and have a machine shop install a set of Wossner forged pistons properly.......that is all 4 of them too.
AND CHANGE THE AMM!!
