Put an '05 Aero ECU in to '07 Aero...what would happen? Posted by Tulsaab [Email] (#31) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Tulsaab) on Thu, 28 May 2015 14:18:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
As things are starting to heat up in Oklahoma, my car is starting to have the heat issue i've talked about previously. After replacing tons of stuff in the car, stumping some very experienced techs, and hearing about other 06+ 9-5's with the same issue, i'm wondering if it has something to do with the software in the ECU. It does almost seem binary, in a way...that after the car heats up significantly, the mileage starts declining (from the SID) and the car loses power.
So, i've been blessed with a new in box ECU fresh from the Saab factory, and I believe it's for an '05 Aero. What would happen if I just plugged in it? (Assuming the connectors would fit?) I know that the '04+'s are very similar mechanically to the 06 and up...but would bad things happen, or is it worth trying?
Thanks!
