Rear engine mount, how much play?

I tried examining the rear engine mount for tears when the car is in reverse. I don't see any tears, but the engine lifts a good deal at the mount point. It's probably in the 1/2" range of lift in reverse. The other three mounts are newish, though the passenger side upper is again looking tired.
I get a good deal of vibration. It lessens some with the AC off. I've got the short belt which isn't helping (will go back to long eventually), but I don't think it's the main culprit as there were issues before I switched to the short belt.
How much shop time is usually needed? Should I change anything else with this job? I'm not sure I can DIY this even though I've done the other mounts. It doesn't seem too bad, but one of these days I'm going to get stuck with the car disassembled. It might even be on an easy job like the brake rotors that refused to come off.
