An update to http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=263341
I have replaced some easy components and cleaned up the PVC hoses that were pretty old and starting to fail. Replaced the coolant temp sensor, crank sensor with no change. Suspecting the throttle body I took it off and inspected. It was very clean. There was a small amount of soot on the bottom of the butterfly but nothing significant. I took off the black cover and it basically looked new.
However the problem still exists or is even getting worse. The car is stumbling all over, very hard to accelerate and boost is severely limited. It is making it unsafe to drive when trying to merge into traffic.
My question is that I have noticed the cruise control is hunting to stay set to speed. I is up and down while driving by a few speedometer needles. Definitely not dead on. Is this a sure sign that the throttle body is bad? Should I bite the bullet and get an BBA Reman unit?
